DAA-1097 is a potent and selective agonist for the peripheral benzodiazepine receptor (PBR), also known as the mitochondrial 18 kDa translocator protein (TSPO).
It exhibits anxiolytic effects in animal studies and has no affinity for central benzodiazepine receptors. The compound is orally active and has been studied for its neuropharmacological profile.
