Pyrilutamide (KX-826) is a topical nonsteroidal antiandrogen (NSAA) developed by Suzhou Kintor Pharmaceuticals for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA). It acts as a selective high-affinity silent antagonist of the androgen receptor (AR), blocking testosterone and DHT from binding to hair follicle ARs, thereby preventing hair follicle miniaturization.
Ongoing Studies:
– A long-term safety phase III trial in China is enrolling 271 male and female patients for a 52-week treatment period.
– A phase Ib/III clinical trial combining KX-826 with minoxidil for male AGA in China has been approved.
