PP405 (PP30) is a novel, non-hormonal, topical small-molecule inhibitor of the mitochondrial pyruvate carrier (MPC), PP30 being a prodrug to JXL-069. Built from UCLA-originated metabolic-stem-cell research and licensed to Pelage Pharmaceuticals, PP405 selectively reawakens dormant hair follicle stem cells by shifting their energy use into glycolysis—thereby promoting hair growth. In a Phase 2a human trial, it demonstrated excellent tolerability, no systemic absorption, and hair density increases (≥20%) in ~31% of treated men after eight weeks, including growth in previously bald areas. Phase 3 trials are expected in 2026, with potential commercial availability by late-decade.
EON Biotech released a world premiere, first-in-class, special nanoliquid formulation.

The carrier solution is currently being patented.
