Cyproheptadine is a first-generation antihistamine with additional antiserotonergic, anticholinergic, and local anesthetic properties. It is commonly used to treat allergic reactions, such as hay fever, and has been shown to reduce the frequency of migraine attacks.
Cyproheptadine is also used off-label for various conditions, including cyclic vomiting syndrome, akathisia, dermatological conditions, and to stimulate appetite and weight gain in certain patients.
