Ketotifen fumarate is a salt form of ketotifen, an antihistamine medication and mast cell stabilizer used to treat allergic conditions such as conjunctivitis, asthma, and urticaria (hives).
Ketotifen fumarate acts by blocking H1 histamine receptors and preventing the release of histamine and other inflammatory substances from mast cells. It also functions as a leukotriene antagonist and a phosphodiesterase inhibitor.
