MK-677 is a potent, orally active, and selective agonist of the ghrelin receptor, functioning as a growth hormone secretagogue.
It mimics the action of the endogenous hormone ghrelin, stimulating the secretion of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). Clinical studies have demonstrated that ibutamoren can increase GH secretion by up to 97%, leading to sustained elevations in plasma levels of these hormones.
